When Mabel was 10 years old she and her family moved from South Dakota to Michigan, eventually moving to a farm on Townline Road in Benton Township.

Mabel married Ralph SCHAUB, son of Frederick SCHAUB and Rachael Adelaide PRICE, on October 30, 1905. (Ralph SCHAUB was born on September 16, 1886 in Sodus Township, Michigan, died on March 9, 1974 in Berrien Co., Benton Harbor, Michigan and was buried in Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor, Michigan.)
