Got phneumonia while making maple syrup in March 1866 and never recovered. He met Sarah Ann in Richland County Ohio. They were Pennsylvania Dutch. They lived in Ohio for five years then moved to Indiana in about 1846. He bought an 80 acre farm ar $2 and acre, 4 1/2 miles northeast of Kendallville.
Lulu says he died Nov. 21, 1865. Charles says Dec. 1866. His will was signed on Nov. 14, 1865 and recorded on June 5, 1866.
George married Sarah Ann WALKER, daughter of Christopher WALKER and Mary Magdalena FISSEL, on October 23, 1841 in Richland Co., Ohio. (Sarah Ann WALKER was born on November 6, 1823 in Knox Co. Ohio, died on February 11, 1906 in Noble Co., Indiana and was buried in Lake View Cemetery, Noble Co., Kendallville, Indiana.)
